Play It FORWARD

At FallCon, we are consistently seeking to make the convention more welcoming and accessible, whether you are a longtime attendee or joining us for the first time. As a volunteer-run, non-profit event, we operate with limited resources, but our commitment to community and inclusivity is deeply rooted.The “Play It Forward” fund creates opportunities for those who might not otherwise be able to attend FallCon.

We encourage anyone who can give a little extra to contribute to the fund through a voluntary donation via the Cardboard Events store.

Apply for Funding

With this fund, our goal is to broaden the reach of the convention and support those who may face financial, systemic, or accessibility challenges to attendance.

While volunteers who join our ConCrew receive 50% off their badge purchase, we understand that volunteering is not possible for everyone. For anyone who faces a barrier to attending FallCon, we encourage you to apply for consideration towards a discounted rate on your single day or weekend badge purchase.

Criteria:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
• We are only able to offer discounted admission rates. You may request your preferred discount level, but the Play It Forward committee reserves the right to determine the discount amount based on the funds available.
• Applications will be considered on a case by case basis, however preference may be given to first time attendees and those facing multiple barriers to entry.
• The application window is open from July 16 to August 15, as long as funds are available.

Please note: The FallCon Gaming Society will use all donated funds to support the Play it Forward initiative. Any balance remaining at the end of the annual Play it Forward campaign will be carried forward to the next convention year. The FallCon Gaming Society commits to reporting back to the community about the Play it Forward initiative at our AGM.
